Building a toolbox

We’re going to start by getting to know one of Adobe Creative Cloud’s apps.

They are not necessarily the best or the only one’s out there, but they are industry standard applications and many of the skills you’re about to learn are directly transferable to other equally awesome software packages such as GIMP, Inkscape, or Krita

Installation

First step is installing the software

Click on the button to the right called “Adobe Installation MGHS”

Task 1

What can we do?

While you’re waiting for that to download

Try searching for image manipulation, or photoshop manipulation.

Collect 10 different examples that you like.

Save these for a later task.

Task 2

Photoshop Intro

There are many things Photoshop can do, lets do something with it.

Click the button to download instructions on how to make a new file
Create a new file for screen with dimensions 1000 pixels high and 1000 pixels wide.
Click the button to download instructions for placing an image
In your new file, place your selfie in front of a plan background (from Task 1)
Click the button to download the Party Hat instructions and keep going.

Task 3

Swapping Heads

Use Photoshop to swap heads between two animals.

Task 4

Green Screen Portrait

Create a self-portrait by replacing the backgrounds using Photoshop.

This is where it gets a bit weird and abstract. Don’t overthink it and just go with whatever might work, you can always change it later.

You will need:

An image/photo/texture of something that represents your home
An image/photo/texture of something that represents how you think
An image/photo/texture of something that represents how you love

*These can all be stolen of the internet for now, but DO NOT get used to that
